[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Ripped jeans have been trendy for a long time now, ever since the 1980s heavy metal era. They continued to be popular in the 1990s and the 2000s. In early 2010s they came back in style and in the most recent years, they have been everywhere – from gently distressed to totally ripped jeans.
Before the 2010s, ripped jeans were not definitely not dressy, but lately there have been ways of incorporating them into more elegant outfits. In order to achieve such a look you have to pair the ripped jeans with the right pieces.
Make ripped jeans look dressy
1. Everything else has to be elegant
You will want to mix the ripped jeans with elegant pieces. Avoid loose or oversized tops or sneakers. You will want to go for shirts or elegant blouses.
2. Keep it simple
The ripped jeans by themselves are quite a statement, so you would like to keep the rest of the outfit rather simple. I opted for a striped shirt and very comfortable sandals. Other ways you can keep it simple is by going for heels or flats instead of sandals. For the top, you can with a simple crisp white shirt that you can half tuck, or a simple fitting tee and a blazer.
3. Dressy details
I love how I have an all blue outfit. Small classy details can add an extra touch of elegance to the outfit – statement heels, belts, watches, jewelry, fancy bags. Any accessory that is elegant and will elevate your look, but be careful to not go overboard. We want to keep it classy.

It’s just that I find them extremely comfortable but also very versatile. With the right accessories, tops and shoes, you can take ripped jeans from casual Saturday to classy Monday morning.
