Just because you are on a budget, that does not mean you do not deserve to feel luxurious. Feeling luxurious doesn’t have to mean spending lots of money on designer clothes and bags or expensive spa treatments. I am not a person to splurge often and every time I do that, I think twice. I always go for budget friendly choices and I am going to share with you my top tips on feeling luxurious on a budget!
Faux fur coat
I was not a big fan of fur coats of any kind until this year. I somehow managed to get my hands on 2 of them and almost got this pink one too. The only thing that stopped me from getting it was not having enough space in my wardrobe. It’s bursting with coats and clothes and I definitely don’t have enough space as it is. But my sister got it and I had to have a mini photoshoot – just look how glorious it is! Either way, I already have two faux fur coats – a beige one and a black one – which are enough for now to match any outfit and give it an extra glam touch.
Visit to the salon and spa
This is important not only for the health of your hair, but also for your self confidence. Ever since I am regularly going to the salon, even if I get my hair bleached, it looks better than ever! Trusting your hair in the hands of professionals is the best thing you can do. It is not the cheapest solution, but do try and make it regular, let’s say every 3 months or so? Let yourself be pampered. Get a trim, a great hair mask and let them blow dry your hair. Last time I went, I don’t know what they did (magic?), but my hair looked great for a week. I only had to brush it in the morning, and apply a bit of dry shampoo after 3 days or so. My hair was so voluminous and shiny, it was insane.
Same with going to a spa – even if you have a great skin care routine, it is so good for your mind and body to go from time to time for a facial. Pick the cheapest one once in a while, and let yourself be pampered. You can even go for fixing your eyebrows or getting a gel manicure. It will feel great, trust me! You will be glowing inside & outside.
Bold lipstick
This is by far the cheapest, easiest and fastest way to feel fancy and luxurious! Be it a great nude color, a bright red or a deep dark cherry, you will kick it up a notch and look glamorous. Applying a bold lipstick is my favourite way to upgrade an outfit! Even if you are dressed in legging & sweatshirt, adding that bold lip will make the entire outfit done on purpose (not that you were lazy or feeling bloated).
Quality perfume
The first thing you must invest in is a quality perfume that will stay on your skin. Until I had the job, I rarely had any proper perfumes. They would last literally 1h or so and then fade away (or it was my impression?). Invest in a high quality perfume. It will last you a couple of months and you just have to apply it to key areas (wrists, neck, behind your ears etc) and you will smell and feel amazing for the entire day. Trust me! For some time now, my staple perfume has been Chanel no 5. If you are one of those people that smelled it on a tester stick and did not like it, you have to give it a try on your skin. It can change it and maybe you will like it.
Badass sunglasses
My current favourites are those pink mirrored glasses. I was SO ecstatic when I received them. They brighten up my mood and add an extra pinch of badassery to my outfit. Same with the lipstick – one of the best ways to upgrade your outfit! In this outfit, they go so well with the entire pink vibe – the hair and the coat. But if pink mirrored glasses are not your jam, that’s ok! Feeling luxurious is about what makes you confident and about things that you love! Find your perfect sunglasses and you will rule the world, girl!
While there are things I would save money for, such as picking affordable brands for high effect clothing, there are things I would prefer to splurge, especially when it comes to hair and skin care. What do you think? What are the things you save or and the things you prefer to splurge on?
